This winter has brought extended periods of extreme cold, with December and January being the coldest in a decade. When temperatures drop for long stretches, homes and businesses use more energy to stay warm. Heating systems must work harder, even if you haven’t changed your thermostat or daily habits. This, along with recent increases to energy supply costs across our region, can lead to higher energy usage and higher bills.  

If your recent bill was higher than expected, or if you’re concerned about an upcoming bill, you’re not alone — and support is available. 

We’re here to help you manage 

We offer a range of programs and tools designed to support you through the winter, including financial assistance, energy savings and efficiency, and  usage management programs. 

We also expanded our Customer Relief Fund to support customers facing higher energy costs this winter. Learn about available support and how to apply at pepco.com/ReliefMD.
